1 Every year, we have Sports Meeting. It is one of the biggest activities for us. Now it is coming soon. Everyone is getting ready for this.
Sports Meeting is interesting and exciting. I like it very much. There are many matches. I never joined the matches until last year. Last year , I went to join one thousand and five hundred metre race. It is too long for me to run it fast. So I am the last one of that group. This year , I am going to join eight hundred metre race. It is shorter than last year but it is more difficult. Everybody in this race will run faster, but if I run fast I can not get the destination. Because it is too tired for me to finish it.
On the afternoon of November 18, we had the opening ceremony of the Fourth Dongzhou Middle School Sports Festival. Each class gave a wonderful performance. The next day, we had an exciting sports meeting. Many players were in it. All the others just watched them. Some were busy writing articles about it. The boys and girls 1500 metres races were the most exciting games. The relay races were exciting, too. Everyone cheered for the competitions. They did their best. When they scored for their own class, everyone was so excited that they jumped to their feet. The sports meeting didn’t end until four in the afternoon. We were tired but we were so happy.

Our school had a sports meeting last week. Eleven classes took part in
it. The weather was sunny and warm, and the whole playground was quite
exciting.
In the boys' relay race, Class 6 fell behind at
first. But the second runner Li Lei ran faster than any other runner.
Then he caught up with others little by little.
At last, their
classmate, Wang Lin passed the finishing line first. Besides, Li Lin
from Class 7 broke the school record for 100-meter race and Class 11 won
the team title. The headmaster gave the prizes to the winners.

Sports Meeting
Last month we had a sports meeting. Though the
weather wasn’t very fine that day, the students were all very excited
and the whole school was alive.
This time, I was even more
excited. Because I went in for the sports meeting and my item was high
jump. I didn’t want to get any place, I only wanted to enjoy the game
because I knew I wasn’t good at sports.
When I got to the field
with my friend. I was both excited and nervous. When I saw the first
height, my heart could hardly heat. How high it was! It was higher than
our desks. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This was too high for me to jump
over. I wasn’t nervous at that timewhile I was a bit afraid. But I had
gone there, I must have a try.
Not long after, the game began.
The first person was great. He jumped over easily. I was too surprised
to say a word. The second was good, too. The third nearly jumped over,
but he wasn’t bad…
It was my turn. I had a deep breath and then ran
towards. In front of the pole, I began to jump. Oh, no! My right foot
hit the pole. “I failed.” I thought. And then, another unlucky thing
happened. I didn’t stand firm and I tumbled. I hurt my back badly. At
that moment I felt my back was broken. It was too painful. It seemed
that the people around field all didn’t know that, they only laughed at
my foolish posture. After a very short rest, I stood up.
I push
my pain back and then went out of the field with my red face. My friend
hurried to come to me. He asked me if this was terrible. I was too
pained with my back to answer his questions. I only shook my head. I was
sad. Not only I had hurt my back but also I couldn’t go on in the game.
I had to see the others jump and wish them to get a good place.
Though I didn’t have the whole game. I was still very happy. Because a
lot of my classmates tried their best in the game and they got a lot of
good places. They were all best in my eyes. I was thankful to them for
doing their best for our class.

Thomas was a new student in my class.The first time i saw him when i came into my classroom.He sat alone everyone looked at him strangely.He smiled at every person who walked next to him.I can still remember his face.He had high forehead,beautiful brown eyes and a lovely small nose.He had thin lips and geous dimples when he was smiling.He also had very short dark straight hair.Thomas was tall and skinny.He always wore jeans,a loose fitting T-shirt or sweatshirt with a hood and trainers.But when was a special occasion he wore black woolen suit,a striped velvet tie and loafers.
Thomas was very friendly and like socialising.He was nwe in my class but in a short time he found friends.I liked him because he was never sad,had a good sense of humour and always told jokes.Many times Thomas,i and two other students from aou class visited pubs or discoes.He never played basketball,football etc.We never asked why he avoided sport...
Thomas was kind,polite for everyone.He always tried to help when someone had a problem.teachers never had troubles with Tom.His knowledge wasn't wide,but he was intelligent and had no problems with learning.
After six months he stoppped going to school.No one knew what had happened with Tom.One day,his mother came to school and told us about his illness.He was little boy when he went down with flu.He had comlications which destroyed his immunity system.Thomas didn't go to school because he was in hospital.We visited him many times.Although he was in hospital so long he smiled all the time.he spent there six months,but doctors couldn't help him...He died during holidays..On his funeral there were a lot of young people.Nobody hid tears...everyone remember his friendly temper
